AYSO EXTRA and Challenge Programs

What Programs Does Camarillo AYSO Offer For Advanced Players?

We have two programs for our players who are looking for a higher level of play (EXTRA and Challenge). Participation on these teams requires a higher level of commitment from the players and from the parents.

The primary benefits of these teams include: A competitive program • Affordable registration fees, especially when compared to club-affiliated teams • Top trained coaches and referees • Positive coaching • Opportunity for tournament play • Opportunity to play for the same coach and with the same teammates each year (depending on outcome of tryouts)

EXTRA Program

AYSO EXTRA is designed for players who have the interest, skills, and abilities, and want to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer, while retaining the spirit of and organization membership in AYSO. EXTRA is not designed to overshadow or harm the standard primary program, rather the goal is to strengthen AYSO by recruiting and retaining players and volunteers through providing more competitive play the AYSO way. All EXTRA programs embrace the Six Philosophies of AYSO.

In 2015, Region 68 EXTRA teams will be offered in U9, U10, U11 and U12.

The tryout schedule will be posted on the EXTRA Program page.

Challenge Program (New for Fall 2015)

AYSO Challenge is a soccer program for the most competitive soccer players in AYSO. It offers these players the opportunity to play at a high level that fits their ambition, skill and ability, against teams in the Coast Soccer League. Challenge supports the same values and philosophies of all AYSO programs.

AYSO Challenge players will be dual registered in Cal South and AYSO. So, Challenge teams have all of the advantages of competing in a "club environment" while remaining members of the AYSO community!

Tryouts for U13, U14 and U15 Challenge teams are going to be held in March and are open to all players.

The tryout schedule is posted on the AYSO Challenge page.
