Frequently Asked Questions on Player Registration

You will need to register through Sports Connect.  If you already have an account, click the Login Button in the upper right corner of the page.  If you do not have an account, click the Register Now button in the upper right corner of the page.

Below are several frequently asked questions and answers that can help.

When do we find out what team we are on?
Teams are selected and given to Coaches in late July / early August. If you do not here from a coach by August 5, please contact the division coordinator for your players division.  E-mail address are on the Staff page under the "About Us" tab.  We always need Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers, so please sign up.

What time is practice and were is practice for 6U and older? The practice time and location of practice is determined by the individual Coach. The Coach will most likely be one of the player’s parents. They will advise you when practice will occur.

Why were no programs available for my player?   If a division is full, the system will place your player on the waitlist at no cost to you.  We might be able to expand the teams in that division or a player may drop and we can move waitlisted player(s) into the division, but your player needs to be on the waitlist. Not all players registered after June 5, 2020 will be placed on a team, but we will do our best

Why is my player on a waitlist? In order to form teams we need an even number of teams with the right amount of players on each team.  So that we do not register too many players, we established soft limits.  As soon as enough players to make two more teams are formed and we are confident that we can get coaches, we will move your player off the waitlist.  If we do not have enough players to form two teams, we often are able to place players on other teams as we often have players drop, even after the season has started.

Why is my 13 year old player on 19U? Our 19U division has always been a combination of 16U and 19U players.   Therefore players born 2002 to 2006 will be in this division. Please know that we have mixed younger and older players together for years with good success.

I am having problems registering as a volunteer. What do I do? First thank you for volunteering to help. Please take a screen shot of where you have a problem and e-mail our Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) at [email protected] with the screen shot and your problem.

How do I register my player? Registration can be done at http://www.camarilloaysosoccer.org/ and click the “register now” button at the top right corner of the website.

What does it cost to play Fall 2019 Soccer? We have very low costs for youth sports because of our volunteers and fundraiser tournaments. There is a $20 fee paid to AYSO National for each player each season (included in the price listed below) . The fees are as follows:

$140 + processing fee for the first player in the family

$130 + processing fee for the second player in the family

$120 + processing fee for the third player in the family

$110 + processing fee for the fourth player in the family

No cost for any additional players beyond the fourth player in that family

Families registering for VIP will need to pay the $20 National Fee.

The cost for active military families is $120.  The military discount of $20 might be completed by a credit after full payment is made and a picture of the Active Military personnel's ID is sent to the registrar at [email protected]

What comes with the registration for 6U and above? 10 or more weeks of soccer, numbered player jersey, black shorts, and colored socks.

What is the refund policy? If a player withdraws before August 1, the entire amount is refunded except for the $20 AYSO National fee.  If a player withdraws after August 1, but no later than August 18, and if the entire uniform is returned, 50% of the registration fee paid except for the $20 AYSO National fee and the processing fee is returned. Players who withdraw because they are moving due to a military change in station are refunded the entire fee except for the $20 AYSO National fee regardless of when the request is made. After August 18, no refunds will be processed.

Are scholarships available? Yes, on a need basis.  Most families will be required to contribute towards some of the costs. Please email the registrar at [email protected] for information.

How do I volunteer? When you register your player, it will ask you to volunteer as coach, assistant coach, referee or team manager. Sign up and complete the volunteer registration request, including all your personal information.

What type of programs are offered by Camarillo AYSO? We offer a variety of programs depending on the player’s age.

Schoolyard (5U Jamboree): For children who are born in 2016.  Each group is made up of three players and each player will have a parent with them on the field. The children learn soccer skills like kicking, dribbling, and throwing in the ball, but in a low-pressure setting. There are not set teams and the activities are only on Saturday.

6U-U8 Non-Competitive: For players who are born between 2013 and 2015.  This program is a team of 6 to 8 same gender players on a team with 4 to 6 players playing on the field at a time, depending on the division. This program will have a practice during the week and games on Saturdays. These players will play 10 games one game per Saturday.

10U-16/19U Competitive: For players who are born between 2001 and 2012.  This program is a team of 9 to 18 same gender players on a team with 7 to 11 players playing on the field at a time depending on the division. This program will have two practices during the week and games on Saturdays. These players will play 10 games, one game per Saturday and possibly move on to Championship Day if they performed well and completed all their parent participation points.

VIP: For players whose physical or mental special needs make it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream soccer teams.

Are there any coed teams?  All teams are boys and girls separate, except VIP.

Can I request a coach or a player? In the 6U, 7U and 8U divisions we allow player and coach requests, but are not always able to honor those requests.  In 10U and above requests are not taken unless the request is that a family member who wants to be on the same team as another family member. You can make requests in the player registration process.

When does Fall Season Start? For 6U and older, the first game of the season is August 22, 2020. Playground and Schoolyard typically start on August 29, 2020. You will be receiving notification closer to these dates.

What time are my games? For 6U and older, the games will vary each week from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Schedules are posted in August.
